I cannot connect to the internet at all. When I scan for networks nothing comes up. does not show any connections available . When trouble shooting wireless connections it says driver for wifi adapter missing. Detects problems with network connectivity version 4.0

Have you "disabled" the WiFi adapter, e.g., "airplane mode" ?
When trouble shooting wireless connections it says driver for wifi adapter missing.
Can you use an Ethernet cable to connect from your computer to your router, to provide "wired" connectivity to the Internet? Then, run Windows Update to try to download & install the correct device-driver for your WiFi adapter.
