Several years ago I purchased the HP 200-5400t CTO Desktop for my mother who is now 96 years old. Yesterday my sister was visiting her and had a network issue with her tablet connecting to the wireless network. I live over 100 miles from my mother and access her system via TeamViewer. Yesterday I discovered that the HP PC was connected to her wireless network rather than the wired network. I opened Device Manager and it does NOT show the Ethernet adapter. I ran Speccy and it does not see the Ethernet adapter. My sister confirmed that the PC is connected to the wired network. Because I'm over 100 miles away I cannot just pop in and see what I can find. I've never had an Ethernet Adapter fail but I suspect it has failed in the HP system. Any suggestions as to additional troubleshooting?
The PC has been running Windows 10 x64 since it was released. I have no idea as to when the adapter failed, at this time I'm assuming the adapter has failed.

- Step 5: Reinstalling the network adapter software in Device Manager
- Step 6: Updating the network drivers
- Step 7: Using Microsoft System Restore
- Step 8: Reset your computer
