It's been upgraded to windows 10 but apparently the wireless was working after that still. It's my parents computer, they were connected via ethernet until moving house and have to go wireless now.

Many thanks for the information. Machine uses  Wireless LAN - RA Flamingo2 BGN 1x1 adapter with Windows 8 pre-installed:

          https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-23-c000-all-in-one-desktop-pc-series/5295893/model/5299...

Unfortunately no available drivers for Windows 10 on its support page

   https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-23-c000-all-in-one-desktop-pc-series/529589...

Please try to download and install

       ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71571.exe

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Thanks, but still no go!

Is there a way of checking that these drivers have actually installed?

Hi,

Please go to Device Manager > Network adapters and check wireless device

 (a) Right click wireless device,

 (b) get its hardware id then post back:

Please use following instructions to get missing hardware id's then post back:

Regards.
