Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just got the computer to replace a 6 year old laptop, they're in the same spot and the laptop had better connection than this. At first everything seemed fine until I went to download a video and it wasn't any faster than my laptop, then after that it got extremely worse.

I did a speed test and to the modem is fine, it is from the modem to the computer. it varies from 0.2-5+Mbps.

I went to updates and there were two so I did those last night (took about 4 hours), restarted the computer, turned it off hours later for the night, this morning it is exactly the same.

I went to device manager and to network and clicked update and find but it says everything is up to date.

Anything to do to easily fix this?

Try running a new thernet cable from your modem to your computer. I had a similar problem a while back and that fixed my problem. Gained a new download rate of almost 100 mbs. Those wires are braided and with movement and exteneded heat from usage, the do start to fray and you lose power and eventually lose it all.

If you try to use through WiFi...good luck! You will only be as good as your provider.
