Hi @Vetteski,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with Keyboard.
If your HP Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 300 isn't working, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check the Batteries
- Replace Batteries:
- Ensure that the batteries in both the keyboard and the mouse are fresh and correctly inserted. Sometimes, simply replacing the batteries can resolve the issue.
2. Check the Wireless Receiver
- Reinsert the Receiver:
- Remove the USB wireless receiver from your computer's USB port and reinsert it. Try different USB ports if necessary.
- USB Extension Cable:
- Use a USB extension cable to place the receiver closer to the keyboard and mouse.
3. Pairing the Devices
- Pair the Keyboard and Mouse:
- There might be a button on the keyboard, mouse, or receiver that needs to be pressed to establish a connection. Refer to the user manual for specific instructions.
4. Check for Interference
- Reduce Interference:
- Make sure there are no other wireless devices nearby that could be causing interference. Move the keyboard and mouse closer to the receiver.
5. Update Drivers
- Update or Reinstall Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager on your computer.
- Find the Keyboards and Mice and other pointing devices sections.
- Right-click on your HP wireless keyboard and mouse entries and select Update driver.
- If updating doesn't help, you can try uninstalling the devices and then restarting your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.
Kindly find the next set of steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Vetteski,
Please find the next set of steps below.
6. Check for Software Conflicts
- Boot in Safe Mode:
- Boot your computer in Safe Mode to see if a software conflict is causing the issue. If the keyboard works in Safe Mode, it could indicate a software problem.
7. Test on Another Computer
- Test on Another Device:
- Connect the wireless keyboard and mouse to another computer to see if they work. This will help determine if the issue is with the keyboard/mouse or the original computer.
8. Reset the Keyboard and Mouse
- Reset Devices:
- Some wireless keyboards and mice have a reset button. Look for a small pinhole or button on the devices and use a paperclip to press it for a few seconds.
9. Ensure Bluetooth is Enabled (if applicable)
- Enable Bluetooth:
- If your keyboard and mouse use Bluetooth, ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your computer and that it is in pairing mode.
10. Replace the Wireless Receiver
- New Receiver:
- If none of the above steps work, the wireless receiver might be faulty. Consider purchasing a new one or contacting HP support for a replacement.
If you've tried all the above steps and the keyboard still doesn't work, it may be a hardware issue. Contact HP support for further assistance or consider getting a replacement if the device is still under warranty.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
