My HP ENVY 700-214 won't connect to Wi Fi. Direct Ethernet works fine.

Comcast Router/Modem blew. Installed replacement. Direct Ethernet connection works fine but can no longer reach Wireless network. Any ideas on how to fix this will be appreciated.

Hi
Has the SSID (Name of the network changed?) from comcast1 to comcast2 and you need to re-input the new name and password?
OR change the new one to suit the old one?
If in doubt please ask.

Thanks for the response. Yes, the wireless network has a new name and password but each time I try to connect, I get a message "Can't connect to this network.
Maybe the Registry settings for WiFi got corrupted Do you or anyone else out there know how to check that?
Thanks

Hi
If it is a like for like replacement then consider trying to change the router to the old network name and password,
OR setup a guest network with the old name and password.
Is it dual band 2.4 AND 5.0 Ghz and that is where the difference is?
If you can open a cmd box and type these commands as administrator...
netsh wlan show profiles
then take the name displayed above and replace %wkey% below for the details.
netsh wlan show profile name=%wkey% key=clear

I'll never know if the solution worked because Windows got corrupted and I can't open Windows.
I appreciate your help in trying to help me fix the Wi-Fi problem. Thank you.
We can close out this problem.
