My network adapter does not support my 1000 mbps fiber optic network speed. How do I fix this issue?

I recently changed internet providers and I now have ATT 1000 Mbps internet speed. I just found out that my network adapter does not support the speed I now have it only shows 10 or 100 mbps when I checked my network adapter through trouble shooting.  Can I install a new adapter or will I have to have my bios update?

Please use the following adapter

    https://www.anker.com/products/variant/aluminum-3-port-usb-3-0-and-ethernet-hub/A7514041

It's very good and you will get 2 more USB 3.0 ports.
