I have been having instability with my internet/router.  I received a message through Verizon that I may want to upgrade my NIC card.  Would this really be the problem?

Hi:

You may want to first update the ethernet driver to the latest version, and see if that resolves any issues you may be having.

Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W10 driver at the link below.

The Realtek RTL8105E 10/100 ethernet adapter your PC has is supported for W10, so unless it is developing a hardware problem, then I don't think you would have to install a different ethernet adapter.

BTW, the adapter you have now is part of the motherboard, not a removable ethernet card.
