Z1 G6 tower workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

Recently brought : Z1 G6 tower workstation

Have a (wireless) modem for internet

I am able to use internet on computer via ethernet cable --> not an option for later use

Problems:

  • Zero network availability  shown in network menu (from any networks), only shows ethernet
  • Cannot find wireless driver in device manager

Done so far:

  • Updates
  • Downloaded software from Hp site for WLAN, bluetooth, BIOS
  • searched everywhere for solutions and now asking for advice

Any help is appreciated, cheers

Hi:

Are you sure that your PC came with built in wifi?

Most HP business desktops do not.  None of mine did.

If you don't see a model wifi adapter listed under the Network Adapters device manager category, your PC did not come with wireless networking.

You can do two things to add wifi to your PC...

1. Install this Intel desktop internal wifi kit with external antennas.

Amazon.com: Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) Desktop Kit (AX200.NGWG.NV): Computers & Accessories

2. Purchase an external USB dual band wifi adapter.
