OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop PC - 875-0005na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am regularly receiving 2-3k ping spikes every 10-30 seconds or so. I have seen previous messages like this, however none of the solutions worked (reinstalling/updating driver, changing advanced properties, end omen command center, etc.). It is not the router.
I had returned my PC back to the seller when I first discovered this issue, but nothing was fixed.
I was wondering if there were any new up-to-date solutions for this that I may not have found.

Adapter - realtek rtl8822be
Driver version - 2024.0.10.215

@Jadeite

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are getting very high pings.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Have you checked with your ISP?

Are you facing ping issues only when gaming?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the chipset driver from the below link and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

It is not ISP, ethernet is fine, as well as other devices.

The spikes come and go. I could be sitting on the main screen with nothing open and be getting them.

All drivers are up-to-date.

The pings also depend on which server you are connecting to and there are other factors as well which affect the ping.

Are you facing this issue only when you are gaming?

Cheers!

No, it happens randomly, gaming or not. Sometimes I can go days without the pings, then it appears again.

There is only a service center option, which is 9km away and supposedly closed due to the lockdown.
Either way, I've already ordered a new adapter, was just curios if there was any fix.

Thank you for the update.

Test it with the new adapter and let me know how it goes.

Upgraded to Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9260 160MHz. Second day, no ping spikes.
