Microsoft Windows 11

I just got an HP laptop, which has no internet cable connection. This is the first time I ever tried to use Wifi. Using Xfinity Wifi, I downloaded Windows 11 and created a PIN for security (although I now realize I don't need it). But now I only get a screen that asks for my PIN. When I enter it, it tells me I'm offline. When I click on an icon at the lower right, I get a list of Wifi options, about which I know nothing. I try clicking the Xfinity Wifi, but I get the message, "Can't connect to this network."

I haven't a clue what to do. If there were a way to get rid of the PIN, which I don't need, at least I might get to the regular desktop screen that has all the various icons.

By the way, this laptop is an HP beauty with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 1135G7 Quad-Core processor. Please don't ask me what all that stuff means, I just included it in case it's relevant.

Is there the option "Log in another way" or  "Use a different account"? There should be a way to get windows to ask for username and password.

Worst case is it asks for the microsoft account and password which will need to be online to confirm.

Laptop should have WiFi configuration icon.  I have had to do this on Dell and Surface Pro

Click the WiFi icon and look for your SSID. Select it and enter your WiFi password..  After it connects you may have to reboot if no other options show up on the screen.  If problem connecting be sure to choose WPA2-personel for security type or whatever type the gateway or modem is set.  Connection denied is either security type wrong or password wrong.
