Greetings,

I can't believe I can't find the answer to my question!

It could be a question to my Arris Modem/Router tech support?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

John K

PS:  I tried ipconfig but I could only get the ip address of my device.

Try / Consider:

Nirsoft - Wireless Network Watcher v2.20

I just (re)downloaded the full installation and ran the program.

Still works in Windows 1903.

Most of the tools that I have used over the years do still seem to work as expected.  This is no guarantee, of course - but it is worth the few minutes it takes to try.  Smiling.

Lots of other tools in the Nirsoft Website.

Open the website and select a category to see what is available.

Some tools are separated by 64bit or 32bit.

Example Nirsoft - Network Tools

Thank you.

Unfortunately, download had a virus.

Will try later but I do appreciate the info.

Hmm.  You are welcome?

I have never been thanked for someone having found a virus in a download.

I have warned people about false-positives (warnings that are perhaps a result of the security software settings).  In this case, I cannot be absolutely certain about what you are seeing simply because the software is not from HP (or Microsoft, or another well known software manufacturer).

My personal experience with this software group is different else I would certainly not recommend using the software.

In general, I restrict third party software recommendations to those I have (myself) used without incident.

Your response made me curious.

  • I have pulled and examined the information on the package that includes the Digital Signature details.
  • I have deep scanned the installation packages for this software. (I have downloaded four of these over time on this system.)
  • I have deep scanned the installed software in the Nirsoft folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Nirsoft).  At this time I have three Nirsoft packages installed - all of which were originally installed in 2017.

Fortunately, I cannot find anything insidious (scans are clean).

Nonetheless, you must adhere to what your security software is reporting.

To those reading:

  • Always scan any downloaded software with your best security software.
  • Check and understand the settings in your Security Software to ensure the software is doing its best job for your situation.
  • Run untested software in a "sandbox" (an isolation chamber created by your security software).
  • Do not trust strangers - while most of us intend no harm, there are vermin infesting the Internet.
  • Never give someone you do not know your personal information - a credit card number, for example.
  • Stay Vigilant.

Dragon-Fur,

I did not take the security warning as a reflection on you.

Any more now it seems that the web is getting more and more unsafe!!

It is unbelievable that one needs multiple security software to try and stay safe.

Just the other the day HP Techs found a virus on my desktop preventing hp software from being downloaded!!

When I get a moment I will retry the down load.

Thank you for your response.
