HP MG0982

Hi

My computer keeps minimising constantly and the mouse being very erratic. I need to know whether the light should stay on on the USB receiver. At the moment the light comes on when I plug in the USB but then goes out.

Hi @carolrosina,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I see from the post that you are having issues with the HP Wireless mouse. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Could you provide me with the Product number and the Operating system installed on the PC? (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...) http://hp.care/2bygf7l

Have you tried a different mouse on this computer?

Have you tried to uninstall the drivers?

Have you tried using it on an alternate USB port or an alternate computer?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Let's start off by uninstalling the mouse drivers as well as USB root hub from Device manager.

Once done, please restart the PC and wait it will look for the drivers and install it automatically.

Please check if that helps.

If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to Re-sync the keyboard and the mouse.

Re-sync keyboard and mouse connection for receivers that do not have a connect button.

Re-sync the keyboard and mouse connections for receivers with a connect button.

Once done, please check if that works.

If nothing works, please try a different mouse on the computer and check if that helps.

Let me know how it goes for further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accepted Solution.
