Well I have been a little distracted by the weather down here on the gulf coast but finally was able to research the softpaqs you recommended.

I really don’t like to just download and install stuff without knowing what it is or what is being installed.

Turns out the wireless and LAN driver versions of my network adapters are the same as the ones in the softpaqs you recommended.  I already have them.

Is there something else in the downloads that I don’t understand?  One had a lot of stuff for a laptop that is not on my desktop.  What happens if I download something and it can’t install or update because I don’t have it?

Here is what I have:

I have a hard time posting pictures to this site.  They don't show up at first, then they are there later.  This time they finally appeared but with a huge space in between.  Tried to edit and remove space but couldn't do it.

Anyway hope you scroll down and can see info on both drivers.  I got your email about your message just now and answered that I had posted a reply this morning.

Wish it was not so hard to post pictures to this forum.

Mostly need to know if there is any point loading softpaqs you suggest if I already have same version of drivers.  And can I cause problems trying to load the stuff in the sofpaqs that don't belong on my desktop.

It seems like the PC already has all the latest drivers. The  Realtek Gaming GbE Family Controller must have been replaced by a later version by Realtek

If you already have the latest drver ( Softpaq ) not required to redownload the same again

OK so nothing to be done.   Just thought there could be something in the softpaq besides the driver that might help.  I guess I just keep waiting for Microsoft/HP/Realtek to come up with  a Windows 10 driver that does not fire off event id 17 warnings by the dozen daily.

Thanks for your time and for trying to help.
