Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Reinstall Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac Adapter. stopped working. No Wifi, no internet.

Tried the advice to Uninstall device in "device Manager", because supposedly Win 10 would re-install the Adapter.

Now Win 10 is stuck for hours on doing this re-install.  Certainly, a reasonable company would have considered the possibility that a computer won't have internet access without a working internet adapter, but neither HP nor MSFT can be bothered to think that far ahead.

Here are some details :

Device PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_C821&SUBSYS_831A103C&REV_00\00E04CFFFEC8210100 had a problem starting.

Driver Name: oem28.inf
Class Guid: {4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
Service: RTWlanE
Lower Filters:
Upper Filters: vwifibus
Problem: 0x16
Problem Status: 0x0

All I would need is   a working copy of the particular Adapter installer software, and a link to download it from, complete with instructions about how to outwit the Windows 10 64 bit sharing violation trouble, and how to obtain access to the appropriate

file folder, on my computer, which I own, and which I therefore ought to be allowed to access to without hassle.

Is there anyone at HP who can fix this?

Personally, I'd fire Realtek, because they can't provide drivers that simply work, but that's just me.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

And, also run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
