Security

HP Recommended
Android 4.1 and older

I have been hacked. I set up a security pin on my lock screen. I know the pin but it won't accept it. I try to do as instructed to repair and access phone but it will not do what its supposed to. It just turns on and off no boot up options. My network on HP also has been comprimised. How to fix and prevent?

@Justiana

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

What you will need to do on the phone is a factory data reset -- and these are done differently for the individual model phones.  Usually, you will find that entry under Settings --> Phone --> About.  This will completely wipe all data from the phones, including any pictures or videos you have saved, and any contacts.

You mention Android, but I'm not personally aware of any Android phones that HP sells.  If yours is an HP phone, please provide the model number.

IF it's not, HP does not provide support for phones made by other companies, which means you will need to contact the manufacturer of your phone.

As to compromising your network, we have no way to access your network and adjust the settings from here.  So, you would have to go into your Router settings and change the pass phrase, and most likely, the account name and password used to configure your router.  Since those steps vary by individual router model, you will have to Google yours and go to the Router manufacturer site and look for instructions there.

Good Luck
