Assuming you mean an Ethernet cable, they come it types vs size as they all use the same connector.

The types are typically Cat5, Cat5e, or Cat6.  It depends on what you are connecting but Cat6 is the newest most common standard and can also work with the Cat5 and Cat5e.  Cat6 is for faster network connections, Category 6 runs at up to 250MHz, while The older standards - Cat 5 was intended for the 100Mbps of data at a frequency of 100MHz and Cat5e for data with 1Gbps throughput.
