Per the specs of my computer: ENVY Phoenix 800-030qe
my LAN Is:
- Integrated LAN
Technology: Realtek RTL8151GH-CG
Data transfer speeds: up to 10/100/1000 Mb/s
Transmission standards: 1000-Base-T Ethernet
- Windows 10 Home v1903
- CAT5e
However, windows is displaying the Link speed as 100/100 Mbps with a speed of 100.0 Mbps
And when I transfer files from one network drive to another network drive or from my computer to a network drive it is transferring, copying, or pasting the files at kb/s.
It is taking hours to transfer 9 GBs -- literally took half a day to transfer 5GBs.
I have just over 200GB on an old HP MediaVault that I am copying the data over to a newer Seagate NAS because the drives keep dying on the MediaVault.
I should have been able to complete this task hours ago. I can download GBs from the internet in mere minutes if not seconds, so why is it taking hours with a projection of days to transfer files that are on the same network, sitting next to each other connected to a 8 gigabit switch?
How can I get gigabit speeds?
How can I speed up the transfer speeds (copy/paste)?
