HP U27 4K Wireless Monitor

HP U27 4K W3AB1

Preciously this connected fine.  I have reset it (several times!).  My Pavilion laptop sees it wirelessly (when I open the connect wireless display), and it offers a PIN number .. entering this it then says 'connecting' but then goes back to the boat screen image saying 'ready to connect'.  Getting nowhere ..  HELP !?

Hi @redhotmouse,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP U27 4K monitor is refusing to connect, there could be several possible reasons for this. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check your cables: Make sure that your cables are connected properly and are not damaged. Try unplugging and replugging the cables to make sure they are secure.
  • Check your inputs: Ensure that you have selected the correct input source on your monitor. You can usually do this by pressing the "Input" or "Source" button on your monitor.
  • Check your graphics card: Ensure that your graphics card supports 4K resolution and that it is properly installed in your computer. If you are using a laptop, ensure that it supports 4K resolution and that it is connected to the monitor using a suitable cable.
  • Update drivers: Make sure that your graphics card drivers are up-to-date. You can usually download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.
  • Try a different port: If your monitor has multiple ports, try connecting to a different one. For example, if you are using an HDMI cable, try connecting to a DisplayPort or USB-C port.
  • Try a different device: If possible, try connecting your monitor to a different device to see if it works. This will help you determine whether the issue is with the monitor or the device you are trying to connect to.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for responding.  My issue is that until recently it was connecting just fine WIRELESSLY (the whole reason I bought it).. as I'm using it in a three monitor configuration, laptop screen, a HD Benq screen and wirelessly to give me the third 4K screen.  I then had an issue with my wireless connection to the internet from my HP Laptop (some duff update perhaps).

I managed to get my laptop back online (after many attempts and LOTS of swearing!) .. but now I can't connect WIRELESSLY to the U27 4K Wireless monitor.  If I reboot it, the laptop sees the monitor and the monitor offers me a PIN code, which I input .. everything says 'connecting' but then it goes back to the boat screensaver and that's the end of it.

It might be something to do with the wireless settings, but as the laptop sees the screen, and the whole thing with PIN number etc., looks like it's going to work .. maybe I'm (must be) missing something ?
