Hi @Envy008,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
To upgrade your HP ENVY Desktop 750-116 for 2.5 Gbps or higher internet speeds, you can install a compatible PCIe network interface card (NIC) or USB Ethernet adapter. Here’s how:
PCIe Network Card Upgrade
- Check Compatibility: Verify your desktop has an available PCIe slot. The HP ENVY Desktop 750-116 typically includes at least one PCIe slot.
- Recommended Cards:
- Intel Ethernet Network Adapter I225-T1: Supports up to 2.5 Gbps.
- TP-Link TX201: Affordable and supports 2.5 Gbps.
- Installation:
- Shut down and unplug your desktop.
- Open the case and insert the card into an available PCIe slot.
- Close the case, plug in the power, and boot the PC.
- Install the necessary drivers (provided with the card or downloadable from the manufacturer’s website).
USB Ethernet Adapter (If PCIe Slots Are Unavailable)
- Use an adapter like the QGeeM 2.5G USB Ethernet Adapter or UGREEN USB-C to 2.5G Ethernet Adapter.
- Plug the adapter into a USB 3.0 port and connect the Ethernet cable.
- Install drivers as needed.
Additional Notes
- Ensure your router and Ethernet cables also support 2.5 Gbps or higher speeds (Cat 5e or Cat 6 cables are recommended).
- Update your network drivers after installation to ensure compatibility with Windows 11.
