The NIC chip is soldered to the motherboard therfore you need a right tool/skill to be able to do that. The easiest way is to use USB adapter.
I have not tested my adapters with USB 2.0 ports (you machine has 6 USB 2.0 ports, 2 at the front and 4 at the back) but you may want to keep adapter for next machine(s) with USB 3.0 ports, please try (or similar):

Yes, a CAT5e or CAT6 cable is fine.
