I have a Linksys wireless router, but my HP Envy 700 PC can't access the router's 5GHz Network. Should I try to upgrade my wireless card or buy a wireless adapters for both my HP desktops?

@coloringdede, welcome to the forum.
When you bought the computer (HP Envy 700) there were two options for wireless adapters:
- Integrated Bluetooth 4.0 and Wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n featuring Single-band (2.4 GHz) 1 x 1 technology
- Integrated Bluetooth 4.0 and Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n featuring Dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) 2 x 2 MIMO technology
If you chose the top adapter you will have to replace it with one that is dual band. You can buy an internal adapter or a USB adapter that will work nicely. With the USB adapter you won't have to open the case to install it. I have used several of both types with great success.
