have a HP Pavilion desk top computer that has been using a wireless connection to the internet for several years. On April second I could no longer access the internet by wireless connection. I tried going thru the device manager but there was no longer a wireless driver showing. Only an ethernet driver was there and several WLAN items that said they were all up to date. How do I get the wireless adaptor driver back?

The test did not find my wireless adaptor. It said my ethernet connection was good. I went to Best Buy and bought a new wireless adaptor that plugs into a USB port. I had to go online and download their driver. I have a wireless connection again now.

@smth78 -- shutdown Windows. Restart the computer, and interrupt the normal startup. Choose to run the HP Hardware Diagnostics, to see if the wireless adapter is connected, and if it "passes" the test.
It is possible that the wireless adapter has "failed", and the motherboard is not detecting it.
