Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Pavilion 223 B010 PC with WIN10 will not install WiFi driver but device manger installs WAN MINIPORT. Tried updating drivers for Wifi but WIN 10 will not install. The system original came with WIN 8. I reinstalled WIN 8.1 to see if it detects the Wifi, it does not even detects it. With WN 10 it detects a bunch of  WAN miniports.

Welcome to the HP Forums,

We'll be with you until it's all sorted & beyond!

Let's start with updating the BIOS: Click here for instructions, once done, try installing the drivers from the HP website: Click here

Manually changing the network settings can resolve wireless connection issues. Create a restore point in Windows, and then manually change the network settings.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Create a restore point.

    The System Properties window displays.

  2. Click Create.

Clicking Create on the System Properties window

  3. Type a name for the restore point, and then click Create.

    Windows creates the restore point.

  4. In Windows, search for Command Prompt. In the results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

If a User Account Control screen displays asking if you want to allow the app to make changes to your computer, click Yes.

Opening a Command Prompt as Administrator

  5. Type the following commands one at a time, pressing Enter after each one:

    • netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled

    • netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

    • netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled

    Typing commands in Command Prompt

  6. To open the TCP Global Settings, type netsh int tcp show global in Command Prompt, and then press Enter.

  7. Make sure all settings are disabled except Receive-Side Scaling State.

Settings are disabled except Receive-Side Scaling State

  8. Close Command Prompt, restart the computer, and then try to connect to the Internet.

If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

To restore BIOS settings for HP desktop and All-in-One computers, follow these steps.

  1. Restart your computer.

  2. During startup, press F10 repeatedly until the BIOS menu displays.

    NOTE:

BIOS configurations vary, depending on computer model. For more information about accessing and navigating the BIOS menu, refer to the documentation for your computer model.

  3. In the File tab, use the up or down arrow keys to select Default Setup, and then press Enter.

  4. Use the up or down arrow keys to select Restore Factory Settings as Default.

  5. Select OK to confirm.

  6. Press F10 to save changes and exit.

  7. Select Yes to confirm.

The computer restarts using the default settings.

Let me know how that pans out,
