Microsoft Windows 11

Hi everyone! I’m hoping somebody can help me with a Wi-Fi connection issue I’ve been having for about a month now. I have an HP Envy All-in-one PC and currently have updated my system up until the 16th of June. The problem I’m having is every time I turn on my monitor, my Wi-Fi never automatically connects like it used to. I have to go into the Network and Internet settings and select my Wi-Fi router. When I do, it usually works for about two minutes tops and then disconnects again. When I try to reconnect, I get the “Cannot connect to this network” error. I’ve tried to use the ‘Get Help’ feature and follow the all the given prompts, reset both my router and PC but nothing seems to work it does look. My wifi works completely fine with all my other devices in my apartment and the wi-fi app says the connected to my PC is strong as well. It seems like I’m behind a couple updates so I’d like to think that’s the reason, but I can’t download updates unless I’m connected to Wi-Fi!! I’ve also tried to connect to another Wi-Fi router that I had the permission to use, but then I proceeded to get the same error that says “Cannot connect to this network”. I’ve tried searching for solutions all over the Internet, but nothing has worked so far. I’m completely lost on what to do at this point. I don’t want to have to take my computer to a tech, just for them to do something that I could’ve done at home in five minutes!! Any help would be so greatly appreciated !!

Hi Paul,

thank you for replying. My only issue with this is that I need wi-fi in order to get to this page on my computer and download from there. If you have any other suggestions or tips, please let me know!

You're very welcome.

If have another PC, you can download the file from that PC, copy it to a USB flash drive, plug the flash drive into your other PC's USB port, copy the file to your PC's Windows desktop, and run the file that way.

Paul,

I was able to reset my network and reset my computer, then quickly got to this page and downloaded the driver. It seems to be working now but stopped for about 10 minutes. I was able to reset again and update my computer to the most recent version. The wi-fi has been working on my computer for about 10 minutes now. I’ll update this post in about an hour, hopefully it’ll stay connected long term now! This solution has helped me a lot, I really appreciate it!

You're very welcome.

Hopefully, the updated driver will fix the problem.

Hi,

I wanted to let you know that my computer is stills experiencing the loss of wifi. It holds a bit longer than it was before, but has been dropping about about 5 minutes now, giving me the same run around as before. A reset usually works but again, the wi-fi will go out after 5 minutes. Any other solutions for this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Hi:

That's unfortunate.

I don't have any other ideas you can try unless you want to physically remove and replace the Wi-Fi adapter with a better one.

That would probably require you to take it to a shop to have the installation performed since those PC's are not easy to take apart.

If you want to do that, this would be the card I recommend:

Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # / SPS # M27269-005
