HP Compaq dc7800 Base Model Ultra-slim Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP Compaq dc7800 Base Model Ultra-slim Desktop PC in which Windows 10 has now been installed. I cannot connect to the internet. Under Device Manager, I have a yellow triangle under 'PCI Serial Port' and 'PCI Simple Communications Controller'. I assume that I need to update the drivers. Does anyone have these or know where I can download them?

Hi:

Unfortunately, those missing drivers are probably not the reason you can't connect to the internet.

These are the drivers you need for those devices...

'PCI Serial Port:

This package contains the Intel Local Management Service (LMS) and Serial-over-LAN (SOL) support for Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) for the supported desktop models and operating systems. This software is part of the Intel Digital Office Initiative.

PCI Simple Communications Controller:

This package contains the Intel Active Client Manager Host Embedded Controller Interface (HECI) device driver for the supported desktop models and operating systems.

I have the dc7800 CMT running on the latest build of W10 x64, but I use a USB wifi adapter to connect to the internet.

I have never tried the wired ethernet to connect to the internet, but when I click to expand the network adapters device manager category, it shows the Intel ethernet adapter is installed and working properly.

When I switch on my PC, sometimes the internet connection is made. At other times when I switch on, it doesn't. I get a message box which says the Intel Active Management Technology status: Enabled etc. How do I resolve this issue?

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with that problem.

OK no problem.
