Hi:

According to the parts list for your PC, it comes with a Ralink RT3290 wifi adapter.

I don't think you caused the disappearing wifi adapter.

That is a very common issue with that model wifi adapter, and the later releases of W10.

The wifi and/or Bluetooth completely disappear from the device manager.

There is no fix.

I recommend that if you can't connect via ethernet cable, purchase an external USB wifi adapter.

Paul, is there any chance of rectifying the situation by reinstalling Windows 10?

I do not believe that will work.

Of course you can try it but that is a lot of work for a slim chance of success.

The only way it might work is if you went back and installed one of the first 2 or 3 releases of W10, and Microsoft quit security support for those versions.

If you don't like the USB option, if your PC has two antenna cables connected to the wifi card in there now, you could possibly upgrade it to a wifi card that works with any version of W10.

Here is the link to the service manual.

There is no wifi card R & R procedure, but you can see how to open up the PC and observe the number of antenna cables there are that are attached to the card.
