My wireless card stopped working. I went into the device manager and disabled it and then restarted the computer. It never reloaded back in the device manager. It is completely gone. I have try to check for hardware changes but it does not show up. I think it's dead. How do i find out what type of replacement card i can put in without knowing what i already have in it? I checked my original receipts and it only say "wireless LAN card." Please help!

Hello, @Mojodrums21 - Hope you are well 🙂

Welcome back to the HP Forums, I'd be happy to help you with your PC wireless issue!

Going through your post, I understand that you are planning to replace the wireless card. Let's also run a hardware test to check whether there is any hardware failure with the wireless module. Follow the steps here: http://hp.care/2vIUpTc

Also, follow the guided troubleshooter to fix the issue: http://bit.ly/2vIxKX2

If indeed the issue is with the wireless card, I need to know the serial number of your PC to provide you with the wireless card replacement options. If unsure check http://hp.care/2v0lK3v to find the PC serial number.

NB: Do not post serial number in public forum. Send me a private message with the serial number of your PC.

Thanks, I will watch for your reply!

Good luck 🙂

I opened the computer up and there is no replaceable wireless cards in it. The card must be built directly into the motherboard. I also did a clean install of windows 7 again and the card still doesn't show up in my device mangager.
