Welcome back to the HP Forums, I'd be happy to help you with your PC wireless issue!
Going through your post, I understand that you are planning to replace the wireless card. Let's also run a hardware test to check whether there is any hardware failure with the wireless module. Follow the steps here: http://hp.care/2vIUpTc

If indeed the issue is with the wireless card, I need to know the serial number of your PC to provide you with the wireless card replacement options. If unsure check http://hp.care/2v0lK3v to find the PC serial number.
NB: Do not post serial number in public forum. Send me a private message with the serial number of your PC.

I opened the computer up and there is no replaceable wireless cards in it. The card must be built directly into the motherboard. I also did a clean install of windows 7 again and the card still doesn't show up in my device mangager.
