Wireless option no longer visible

HP Recommended
Pavilion p6-2427c PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Ability to connect to internet via wireless has disappeared. I have not changed software recently.

No wireless option in Network and internet settings.

None of the items listed in Network adapters include the word wireless.

Do I need to download a wireless driver?

Hello,

Try this:

- go to "edit power plan" (search in Cortana or in Control Panel)

- change advanced power settings

- scroll down to Wireless Adapter Settings

- set everything to maximum performance

- reboot

Curious to see if this works for you.

Hello again,

You could test the wireless module in HP UEFI.

You can enter the UEFI by tapping F2 immediately after powering on. After that, go to component tests > wireless adapter.

If that test passes, then go back to Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices and tell is if you can find the wireless adapter this way.

In UEFI in component tests the only options are: Processor, Memory, Hard drive, System board, USB port and Video. There is no wireless adapter.
