can't connect to the internet anymore

HP Recommended
pavilion slimline 400-224 pc
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Last time I Shut dow on my pc, everything was fine. Next time I opened, I can't connect to the internet. I had a wireless connection. When I check if I'm connected, it says I am...same connection to my router as this tablet I'm typing on now.

If it says I'm connected, but I can't connect to the internet in the pc, what do I do?

Hi @Bunny123,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues connecting to internet using Wireless. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help.

To provide you with an accurate solution. I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any changes on the PC before the issue started?

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the Wi-Fi drivers?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the PC:

Next step, I would suggest here is to disable and enable Wireless:

Windows 8/8.1

  1. From the Windows Start Screen, search “Turn wireless devices on or off”.
  2. Enable or disable Airplane Mode to stop all wireless communication. Under Wireless Devices, choose whether to enable or disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

If the issue started recently, I would suggest here is to perform a System restore to a previous date where it was all working fine, using this link.
