Pavilion 23 all-in -one desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had installed a dual-band wifi adapter, and when using the 5G signal, I use to get upwards of 150Mbps. for the last few months I noticed network access has slowed, and the internet speed dropped to ~ 5 ~10Mbps when I last measured it!. I even connected directly via cable to my modem, same speed.  I am running windows 10 home edition. I have a company laptop also running windows 10, same wifi network and distance, it measures speeds up to 190Mbps, so it is not my internet service.  I don't want to toss this PC, any thoughts on why the network speed are so slow now?

thanks

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the Internet connection speed.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the product number of your computer?

What is the make and model of the wireless card you installed?

Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

Hello, thank you for responding

:

I have the all-in-one desktop:

Product name is 23-b034

Product number is H3Z61AA#ABA

The wireless card is a USB 2.0 dong, Linksys WUSB6!00M. I did update to the latest driver.

As I stated, it is not related to the wireless card, as I connected directly via ethernet cable into my modem ( no router) and the internet speed test, at https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ which use to show me 100+ Mbps,  is now only showing 30-40.

I discovered from further observation that it is not only my internet, but also my entire computer has slowed down. The mouse movements are jerky at times, and the resource manager is indicating many times 100% CPU usage. This is when trying to perform internet access. (I tried different browsers with the same results).

I have tried all the options for using the HP assistance and the link you provided with no change. Is is possible to enable turbo speed to speed up the processor to help with the CPU load issue?

Thanks again

I recommend you perform a system restore back to the date when everything was working fine on the computer.
