Hi @Hbowers

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP Pavilion All-in-One is having trouble establishing a Wi-Fi connection despite recognizing the router.

Let’s work through some steps to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Restart Devices

  1. Turn off your desktop, router, and modem.
  2. Wait for 2–3 minutes, then turn them back on.
  3. Retry connecting to Wi-Fi.

Step 2: Forget and Reconnect to the Network

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
  2. Select your router’s network and click Forget.
  3. Reconnect by entering the Wi-Fi password.

Step 3: Update Network Drivers

  1. Open Device Manager (search for it in the Start menu).
  2. Expand Network Adapters and locate your Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Realtek or Intel).
  3. Right-click and select Update Driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Step 4: Reset Network Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  2. Scroll down and click Network Reset.
  3. Restart your computer after the reset.

Step 5: Check Router Settings

  1. Ensure your router is set to WPA2-Personal security mode (not WPA3, as some devices may not support it).
  2. Verify that the router’s firmware is up to date.

Step 6: Test with Another Device

  • Connect another device to the same Wi-Fi network to confirm the issue is specific to your desktop.

Step 7: Use HP Support Tools
