The internal wireless card in my 500-c60 desktop works only with a 2.4 GHz signal (802.11b/g/n). I want to be able to use the much faster output from my dual-band 2.4/5.0 GHz router, using the newest wireless protocol (I think that's 802.11a).
Can I simply swap out the standard wifi card for better one? Or, since there's no external antenna with the original card, can I replace it with a USB 3.0 wifi adapter with an external antenna?

Hi:
If your PC has two antenna cables connected to the card in there now, you can upgrade to a better internal wifi card.
You'll have to open up the case and check.
If not, then the easiest thing to do would be to purchase an external USB dual band AC wifi adapter.
