12Gb memory - 2 DIMMs or 3?? - for HP Envy h9-1440t

I will soon be purchasing an HP Envy h9-1440t.  There are two 12GB memory options:

1.  12GB DDR3-1600MHz SDRAM [2 DIMMs]

2.  12GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [3 DIMMs]

There is no difference in cost.  I also see that the 3 DIMMS are 1333mhz vs. the 2 DIMMS which are 1600mhz.

Which would be preferable?  I am mainly interested in the desktop for gaming.

Thanks for any advice!

Re: 12Gb memory - 2 DIMMs or 3?? - for HP Envy h9-1440t

Since the motherboard supports only modules that are in multiples of two, this is an interesting query. I have never heard of a 6 GB DDR3 module at this date.

I am asking HP about this and will get back to you.
