HP 27er
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

27er - it has 2 HDMI ports, one works great and is clear.  The other is fuzzy and distorted.  Same problem on both Windows 7 system and Windows 10 system.  VGA port works great.

@JRotten

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand one of the two HDMI ports are malfunctioning,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

What is the product number of your product? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

Did you confirm the issue using two different cables?

While you respond to that, I recommend you reset the monitor back to factory defaults using the menu buttons,

And let me know if the issue persists.

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

I connected two computers with two separate cables on two different operating systems.  Windows 7 and Windows 10 the distortion problem was identical.  Fuzz around fonts.  An unclear lower resolution view even though it showed 1920 x 1080 on both systems.  Both had the same problem on the same HDMI plug port on the monitor.  And worked great when plugged into the other HDMI port on this montior.  T3m88AA is the model number.

@JRotten

Thank you for replying with this overwhelming and detailed response 😉

I appreciate your time and efforts,

The best thing to do is to contact HP support to setup a hardware repair/replacement as this would confirm a hardware malfunction between one of the two ports you have,

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number to obtain a case along with the phone number.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts,

Mark my post as Accepted Solution.

And click on the Purple Thumbs up icon at the bottom of my comment.

Regards,
