3rd SSD doesn't work when connected - HP Z420 Tower workstation

HP Z420 Tower workstation
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

we have 2 SSD connected on the Gray connectors. When I try to connect a 3rd SSD on white or black connectors, the SSD isn't recogonized even in Bios.

Sata (0) and Sata (1) are recogonized

I tried to swap the new one with gray connectors, and it worked.

How can I connect the 3rd SSD. Anything needs to be enabled? I checked in BIOS and not a lot of options for this.

Updated the BIOS firmware to 3.84 and still no luck.

I found a similar thread http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/Adding-a-drive-to-a... but is not of help

Kindly help.

Is the third SSD the very same specification type?

That certainly could be the problem. Memory types (TLC) ( MLC) and controller types have a great part to play in compatibility with specific motherboards. Certain types will work and others not.

What is the brand and model number of the first two SSD's?

The following websites show SSD disks they they guarantee to be compatible with the HP Z420 Workstation

Then it could be either a bad connector or perhaps the port.

Well none of the 4 white and 2 black work. Could all of them be a problematic?

There is a block diagram in the manual that shows all of the components. There may also be an image which shows which ports are SATA 3 GB\s and 6 GB\S.  I will take a look and post a link to the pdf manual.

Updated: The link is below. See page 19 for the image with components list
