HP H8 HPE Pavilon Series -product no. QN621AA#ABA

operates on Windows 7 home premium 64 bit system

Just purchased this computer in November 2011... I have purchased Microsoft Office 2010 and Adobe CS5.5 software which has been installed on this computer. Everytime I turn on my computer, I get this message:  511-CPU Fan Not Detected. Underneath that is:  F1:Boot

What is wrong and what do I do to fix this issue?    Thanks, w-k

Hi,

Open up your PC and trace the CPU fan cable to the motherboard. Remove and replace it.

With the PC open, power on the PC and observe the fan.  Is it spinning?

Try clearing the CMOS. With the PC open, power on the PC.  Does the CPU fan spin?

Hello all, I had this exact same problem with my CPU on my hp Pavilion HPE, everytime I started it I got the same error. When I opened the case up when the PC was running the fan wasn' moving at all, though instead of doing any technical work on the hardware all I needed to do was use my trusty old finger to spin the CPU fan around then it started off itself.
