Solved!

800G2 all in one, wakes on lan to PXE but not hard drive

HP Recommended
800 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an issue with 18 800G2 all in ones. I can easily boot any of them using wake on lan but, they all want to boot to PXE. Nothing I have tried changing in the BIOS has made a difference. I need them to boot to Windows.

Any suggestions?

Dan

@Dan2495

Go to the BOOT options in the BIOS.

Uncheck the Network (PXE) Boot option.

Then go to Built-in Device Options.

Set Wake On LAN to Boot to Hard Driver.

Why is this even an issue though. We have the same thing happening to hundreds of 800 G2s. Nothing is sending out hte WOL request yet power off systems are turning on by themselves.

Is HP offering a bios fix?

I'm seeing the same thing in a new lab of 36.  Thought is was SCCM.  We have 90 others in a different site NOT experiencing this issue.  If I "Uncheck the Network (PXE) Boot option". Does that mean I can no longer PXE with F12?

No need to uncheck "Uncheck the Network (PXE) Boot option." !
This will prevent you to boot using PXE. This is not related to the WLAN.

What you say here is enough (just tested it on a HP Prodesk: wake's from LAN and boots form SSD)

"go to Built-in Device Options.

Set Wake On LAN to Boot from Hard Drive"
