AMD High Definition Audio Device not plugged in

HP 110-210 Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

How can I get AMD HD audio device (see the Subject) plugged in; do I need to buy a HDMI digital jack?   When I opened the icon of "Sound" on the desktop, I, under the playback tab, saw the said device not plugged in.  Please help!

Hi:

If your PC had an HDMI out port, that device would be connected via an HDMI cable.

However, looking at the specs for your PC, I only see a DVI out port.

I do not believe you will get sound from the DVI port by using a DVI to HDMI adapter cable.

You'll only get video.

I assume your PC speakers are working via the Realtek HD audio, correct?
