Solved!

Any one know what this object might be?

I recently bought a computer, HP OMNI 220, windows 7 premium.

when i opened the packaging, there are not very many parts, but there is one thing that i simply cannot figure out what it is.

Its a very long cord, one end with a plug similar to one of one from speaker. other end is a red thing(dont know how to describe it) and it has paper which i can peel off(im assuming its meant to stick onto something|).

I have been thinking maybe its some kind of microphone, but it doesnt look like one.

I was thinking maybe its used to receive signal from the remote which came with the computer but it fits in the headphone/microphone jack slot, and the remote works fine without it.

this is the picture.
