Hi. I have a Compaq Presario Model CQ5700Y. I need to change from single to a quad CPU, AMD Quad-core Phenom II X4 920 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Socket AM2+ Processor that I just purchased (original is AMD Athlon II 170U 2000mhz, 1 core, 1 Logical). When I installed it, it said it's not supported and shut down. I read online that I just need to update the Bios Driver for the motherboard. I went to HP support site and there is no Bios listed for my PC. Can someone help me please. I'm not sure what to do next. My system is 64 bit and I upgraded the RAM to 4gb. I need to get this to work for a new job. Is this even possible? Thank you in advance.

Thank you so much for the reply. I think I may have found what I was looking for? The motherboard is and AMIBIOS 686 and I found the update for it on the American Megatrends website https://ami.com/download-license-agreement/?DownloadFile=AMIBIOS8_AMI_Firmware_Update_Utility.zip. I downloaded it but I now have to create a ROM file to flash it. I'm hoping to do the flash in windows so I dont mess things up. Am I on the right track?
