Can not read SD card

I have a Pavilion with built in card readers and using Windows 10. When i place an SD card in the reader the light comes on but the reader doesn't show up on my pc. In addition my canon printer's reader and a usb reader do not show up in my pc. I have tried updating drivers and have run out of ideas. Please help.
