Cant select system recovery

HP touchsmart 600-1005xt

Windows 7 64-bit

 

after pressing F11 for a system recovery, on the category "I need help immediately" I cannot selet the system recovery option; its grayed out and I cannot click it

If the recovery partition is damaged or deleted you can wind up in this situation.

Did you make a set of Recovery DVDs? those can perform the same function.

I have made a set of recovery DVDs and I was able to start system recovery but I ran into another problem

 

after the recovery runs for a while at the very last minute I get this

 

error code 0xe0ef000e or 0xe0ef0003

A: Run diagnostics and make sure that your hard drive is ok

B: Make sure you have nothing USB attached to the machine other than keyboard and mouse.

 

C: A google search on 0xe0ef000e shows that it's related to the data on it some times, so following some of those existing threads may get you going.
