Changing CMOS battery on a Compaq SR2150NX desktop

I was able to remove  the dead battery from the motherboard, but I can't seem to get the new one to lock into the battery spot?

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Changing CMOS battery on a Compaq SR2150NX desktop

Hi,

Be sure that the + side is up on the battery or the lock in clamps will not hold the battery in place.

I have the plus side of the battery up, but there don't seem to be any clamps...

Hi,

The motherboard photo does appear to show a hold down snap clamp.  However, the photo could be wrong. Try is article. It shows other CMOS battery installations.

Thanks Big_Dave, but neither of those photos are applicable to the SR2150NX motherboard.

Hi Tom,

The information posted by HP on another site for five differnet motherboards for the SR2150NX does in fact show the CMOS batteries as shown in either of the the two above links.  Perhaps you have yet a different motherboard.

You are try to install a CR2032 battery, right?

You can use the Belarc Advisor to determine the motherboard in your PC.
