Code 39 on HP EN1207D-TX PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter

I have an HP Pavilion Media Center a1640n Desktop PC with Windows XP (Service Pack 3).  The ethernet adapter is not functioning - I discovered this when attempting to set up a wireless router.  When I try to uninstall on Device Manager, I get the following message:  "Failed to uninstall the device.  The device may be required to boot up the computer."  Is there a way to fix this myself?

Install the driver from the following weblink:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software7/COL18946/pv-49035-1/sp34968.exe

 

If you have installed HP EN1207D-TX PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter, please download the driver from the following weblink:
http://accton.com/support/driver/EN1207D.zip
