Compaq 8200 Elite Ultra-Slim second hdd

I have a HP Compaq 8200 Elite Ultra-Slim desktop (running Windows 7 Professional 64bit)... due to it's ultra-slim design it's internals are more limited than the standard desktop & tower versions...

The Compaq 8200 Elite .pdf documentation for the ultra-slim suggests that only one hard drive is possible... however
MY QUESTION IS: can i remove the DVD drive & run a second HDD from a caddy tray? - i assume the DVD cables could power the new HDD, and the power supply could handle it now that the DVD drive is replaced!?

Will the BIOS recognise/ allow a 2nd HDD?

Is there any other reason why this wouldn't work?

Ideally i would like to run a 250GB SSD as the primary windows drive and use the existing 350GB HDD as a storage/ media drive.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Smiley Happy
