Hp compaq 6000 pro sf- AT492AV
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I currently have the Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00 Ghz cpu installed and was wondering whether there is a more faster cpu I could upgrade to - does anyone out there have a list of compatible cpu's for my  Hp compaq 6000 pro sff- AT492AV

small form factor desktop PC ?

HERE IS THE SPEC PAGE for that model showing the possible CPU choices.  There are some listed that will improve on the E8400.  You could even jump into the next group and install a Intel Core 2 Quad Processor

Thanks for your advice, could you advise a comparison of the the E8400 versus Q9400  core 2 quad... would it make any significant speed increase difference?

 the performance will be much better with the q9400  A LOT i have a e6300 and i switched to a q6700 and its a lot faster and i can do multiple without  the computer useing all its resources and btter in gaming  good luck mate

Thanks for your your comments, I have in fact upgraded to the quad core q9400 and the pc is running much faster
