DC7800 Tower Blue Screen with New SSD Put Into RAID Mode

DC7800
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Running Win 7 64 Bit, did the trick where you boot in IDE mode add the driver for

AHCI/RAID, then switched in BIOS to RAID mode.

Seems to work but then blue screens when I go to open Chrome or other large apps.

Not sure exactly but it can run for 10 minutes, then blue screens with a memory dump.

It is an old system, should I just leave it with the spinning drive?

SSD is a new Samsung 850

System has a 3 GHz Core 2 Duo so it reasonably fast for an old system.
