Delay upon delay upon delay upon...

The first day I received this new computer, I noticed a very noisy liquid cooling system.  It was audible in the next room.  I knew that I could not live with it forever but also had projects requiring completion and so lived with it.  I also noticed periodically the temperature would skyrocket for a few minutes before cooling back down.

I had purchased the extended warrantty and finally began making arrangements in August, 2016 for repair.

I see I'm not the only one reporting delayed repairs but this may be a bit longer than some others and there's no promise that it will end here.  HP received my computer on 9/28/16 and emailed an expected return date of 10/10/16.

 

On 10/10/16, instead of receiving a computer, I received an email reporting a return delay to 10/17/16.

 

On 10/17 with no computer, I contacted HP and learned there was now an unannounced delay.  The return would now be listed delayed to 10/26.  That's return date #3.

On 10/24 with no shipping information, I contacted HP and learned "the part has been delayed" to 10/26 and so the computer would come back on 11/2/16 "or maybe earlier", return date #4.  It was going to take a week to complete the necessary extensive testing.  

 

On 10/25 the return date was stil listed on 10/26 even though the phone call reported the return date would be 11/2/16.  Today 10/26, I looked on line and the original phoned return from 11/2/16 is now printed to be postponed to 11/15/16, return date #5.

 

Will this 5th return date be delayed to a 6th date or 7th or...?  Am I truly powerless in this.

  I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number.
